When fully hatched and “inflated” this big dragonfly will be about 3″ long. Hours ago it crawled up a tule reed from underwater. Its sticky feet keep a firm hold as the reed whips violently in the wind. During calm moments I see the yellow veins slowly filling the wings. In 10 years I’ve never seen this before.
